 In Aug. 1997, Dr. Matsukawa and we, member of "Toyama Paleontological Research Club", announced about the next paper concerning "Early Cretaceous dinosaur trackways" which were found at Toyama prefecture, central Japan.
 Further details are reported at Cretaceous ResearchVol.18(4), August, 1997, p603-619.
Abstract is as follows;

First trackway evidence of gregarious dinosaurs from the Lower Cretaceous Tetori Group of eastern Toyama prefecture, central Japan

Masaki Matsukawa, Toshikazu Hamuro, Teruo Mizukami, Shoji Fujii

Early Cretaceous slender-toed bipedal dinosaur tracks are reported from the eastern part of the Tetori area, central Japan. They are small, bipedal and tridactyl impressions assigned to Toyamasauripus masuiae ichnogen. and ichnosp. nov. based on biometric analysis. Thirty-three individuals of Toyamasauripus masuiae show the highest density of footprints of any dinosaur track-sites in Japan.
 This is also the first trackway evidence of gregarious dinosaurs reported from Japan. Toyamasauripus masuiae appears to represent a small bipedal dinosaur track-maker that was relatively abundant. As no bones are known from the track-bearing beds, the footprints add much to our knowledge of dinosaur faunas at this time.

 This is "Holotype" footprint which was assigned to Toyamasauripus masuiae ichnogen. and ichnosp. nov.

 On the right is a photo of the cliff where trackways of dinosaurs were found.
(Toyama prefecture, central Japan.)

 The area of the cliff is apporoximately 20 m X 20 m and Toyamasauripus masuiae were found on the left surface of the cliff.

 Many footprints and trackways were found and this is the first trackway evidence of gregarious reported from Japan.
